Privacy

Frame is built so your screenshots never leave your Mac. This page explains that plainly.
What stays on your Mac
Everything that touches your screenshot is processed locally:
- Screen capture, using Apple's ScreenCaptureKit.
- Text recognition and sensitive-data detection, using Apple's Vision framework and on-device matching.
- Redaction, beautify, and export rendering.
Your images, their contents, and anything Frame detects in them are never uploaded, logged, or sent to us or anyone else.
The only network calls Frame makes
- Update checks, to fetch the app's update feed and download a new version when you ask.
- License validation, to activate, validate, or deactivate your license key through Polar. This sends your key and a hashed device identifier, never your screenshots.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Polar as merchant of record. Frame never sees your card details. Refunds are available within 7 days.
Analytics
Frame does not embed third-party trackers. Any product analytics are privacy-respecting and opt-in, and never include the contents of a screenshot.
